An Important Antique Arts & Crafts Liberty & Co Table Attributed To Edwin T Hall

An important Arts & Crafts octagonal oak table sold through Liberty and Co and attributed the Edwin T Hall and his son Edwin S Hall a renowned architect that designed the Tudor style Liberty store in London, this table is a retail purposed design based on the original tables used in the Liberty Tearooms open in the early to mid 20th century. 
These tables are designed on the tables that were made for the new café at Liberty & Co's Tudor building in 1924. The café, which no longer exists, was located in the basement and had as its focal feature a large stone fireplace with distinctive conical canopy. Their design reflects the arched buttresses and roof pendants in the main atriums. These tables are believed to of been made in response to the original tables in the cafe that were not readily available for sale in the 1920’s.
